The art of giving is simply defined as "giving from the heart without any expectation of something in return". Being generous starts with treating each person equally as every one of us. Giving something willingly, voluntarily and happily without expecting anything in return is generosity and humanity, whether you're donating money to an organization you believe in or you're giving your support to a person in need.
There are enough people around the world who are waiting for someone to help them and be there in their time of need. The more we can help them and give our little time, empathy & compassion can make a big difference in their lives. It can also create an impact for others to do the same. The joy of giving is indescribable because it takes courage and spirit to give something from your life to others. It is not simple and obvious to do something for another. But if we have the heart to be there for others without expecting anything in return makes the exception. Right giving and happiness are deeply connected and they both come from an emotional place deep within our souls.
A gift, a contribution, a help no matter how small or large, is something that is enjoyed twice at both ends, giving and receiving. The act of giving doesn’t have to be limited to holidays or special occasions but during the holidays the urge to give increases. Diwali is the festival of lights and this Diwali we should light someone's house with happiness, a face with a smile and help people in need.
The Art of Giving is born from enthusiasm, passion, diligence, and a genuine interest in the improvement of communities and the common good - Funding for the underprivileged people, providing them with their needs and promoting a supportive community or maintaining social initiative programs that benefit the communities and society.
We all have something that can be given. We all have something of benefit for another person which may not be that valuable for ourselves. Thankfully, generosity, hospitality and kindness are not associated with material limitations and this makes the act of giving something wonderful. One of life’s most basic laws is "every single act of love, kindness and generosity will multiply and return to you many times over". When you give without any expectation of getting something back, your happiness will be unlimited. The intention behind your giving is most important. The intention should always be to create happiness for both the donor and the beneficiary and when the intentions are the right ones it creates a wave of happiness, joy, trust and love in your life beyond what you could ever expect.
We waste tons of food every single day. More than 25 lakh Indians die every year because of hunger.
Over 20 crore Indians sleep empty-stomach daily which include children and youngsters. This Diwali helps Child Help Foundation(CHF) in its mission: Zero Hunger. The “Zero Hunger” project was initiated with a dream to erase malnutrition among underprivileged children. Today, CHF, along with Filaantro, feeds healthy and freshly cooked meals to these children once a day. Not a single person should sleep on an empty stomach. CHF is now feeding close to 2000 underprivileged children daily in different locations across India - Delhi, Thane, Mumbai, North Eastern states, Odisha, West Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand, Hyderabad, Chennai and Bangalore and would like to increase these numbers and locations with your support. Apart from distributing nutritious cooked meals, dry ration kits are also being provided regularly to the needy.https://filaantro.org/fundraiser/view/zero-hunger
Let us celebrate the festive season differently this year. Let us be mindful of the people in need. It is about responsible gifting & conscious giving during this festive season of prosperity and hope.
