Dreams are what drives a person towards success in life. The freedom that one has to dream absolutely anything, can do wonders. Once you are emotionally and physically attached to that dream, you know what to do next in order to realise them. Indeed efforts, determination, sacrifices, compromises, working day and night is what it takes to make your dreams a reality.
The current generation, or the Generation Z and Millennials know it through the term ‘Hustle.’ They know, though in different ways, that hustling, prioritising self and dreams and needs are what matter the most and how to achieve them.
One such Gen Z girl is In the busy classroom of Queen Mary’s School in Delhi, is Manasvi Bansal is synonymous with ‘gifted’. Her teachers have dubbed her a ‘prodigy’, upon witnessing her zeal and academic brilliance. She has interned at Saathi Education for a month, and also created a puzzle game for Amazon.
At such a tender age, she has completed courses in Digital Marketing, Cybersecurity, and Python Programming. Even though C++ was not a part of the curriculum, she taught it to herself, to increase her knowledge about artificial intelligence. Later, she created a pet project titled ‘A.R.T.H’ (Autonomous Robot for Tracking Humans) for Technoxian ‘18, a World Robotic Championship. She is also pursuing a blockchain degree with Google Certified Courses. Not content with excelling in academics, Manasvi went on to earn accolades in Folk Dance, Badminton and even Linguistics.
Now, what are the dreams of this mad talented, brilliant girl? She wants pursue BSc in Computer Science to an esteemed university in the US of America. She had applied to a few university and guess what? Her applications are so strong that she has received offers from St. John’s University, Ohio State University, the University of Texas at Dallas, Arizona State University, and the University of Buffalo. It seems everything is going great for Manasvi but every person knows their own struggles.
Despite of having a scholarship offer, Manasvi has to pay 21% of her fees for her degree which amounts to Rs. 21,70,000/- (Rupees Twenty One Lakh Seventy Thousand only).
In the wake of COVID-19 lovkdowns, her father, who owned a small business suffered a great loss and he had to shut it down. Post that time, Manasvi’s mother, the sole breadwinner of the family has been taking care of the family of five with her income.
Her courageous mother, is firm to send her to one of the universities that has extended their offers to Manasvi but arranging an amount in lakhs is impossible for the family at this point. Time is ticking for Manasvi and taking her dream away from her with every passing minute.
This brilliant girl, who never fails to give up has taken things in her hands and has started a crowdfunding campaign on Filaantro crowdfunding platform.
Crowdfunding is a practise of gathering funds for any social or personal cause through a large group of individuals or organisations.
