The world of business is often associated with masculinity. Most respected and well-known entrepreneurs are men like Elon Musk, Warren Buffet, and Mark Zuckerberg.  In fact, a person will need help finding a female entrepreneur.  

 

This patriarchal world has made it a difficult challenge for women to rise up. But even with these obstacles in place, women have broken glass ceilings and barriers and have made a place for themselves in the cut-throat world of businesses. 

 

So, these are five female entrepreneurs you should make yourself familiar with.

 

  1. Falguni Nayar

At the age of 49, Falguni Nayar had a vision that would change her life forever. It was in 2012 when Falguni Nayar founded Nykaa, an Indian E-Commerce company, that sells beauty, wellness and fashion products. 

 

The website offers a collection of more than 2,000+ brands and 200,000+ products.  The company is estimated to be worth USD $480 Million, and her personal net worth is estimated at USD $5.6 Billion.

 

Just like her idol Bill Gates, Falguni Nayar has also used her success to uplift others. She heads an NGO called Project Nanhi Kali, which provides education to underprivileged girls.

 

  1. Sheikha Hanadi Al-Thani

Many would be content with establishing only one company, But Sheikha Hanadi was not a part of this group. She serves as a founding member of three different companies. Such as Amwal (Asset Management Firm), Al Waab City Real Estate, and Q-Auto (Qatari Importing Firm for Volkswagen and Audi). She is also the CEO of Nasser Bin Khaled AL Thani & Sons Group (A distributing company for international brands in Qatar). 

 

With so many accolades to her name, it shouldn’t come as a surprise that Sheikha Handai's net worth is an enormous USD $15 Billion. She sits as one of the richest Muslim women in the world and continues to inspire girls around the world to break boundaries.

 

  1. Odunayo Eweniyi

After graduating at the top of her Computer Engineering class in 2013, Odunayo set out to establish PiggyVest at the mere age of 24. It is the first online app for personal savings and investments in West Africa.  Not satisfied with this, Odunayo went on to co-found another company called FirstCheck Africa in 2021.  It is an angel fund and investor community led by women for women. 

 

Looking at her accomplishments, Forbes Africa named her as one of the Top 20 young wealth creators in Africa. Her company, Piggyvest has helped over 230,000 African millennials to invest and save $15 million dollars. 

 

  1. Noor Al-Khadra

When your parents yell at you for wasting your time with video games, tell them the tale of Noor Al-Khadra. A passionate gamer, Noor went on to pursue BFA in 3D modelling and game design at the Academy of Art University. Being armed with this degree, Noor went on to become the founder of a UK-Based WeGeek and the co-founder of Robonetica. 

 

WeGeek has hosted over 20 social events related to gaming and also analyzes data which ensures marketing and customer satisfaction. Meanwhile, Robonetica is an AI robotics platform that can be accessed by anyone through Supergames and hyper-real virtual reality (VI) events.

 

In her free time, she runs her own Youtube Channel, where she reviews games, as well as goes through walkthroughs of various popular titles.

Born to Indian parents in Zambia, Mitika realized how difficult it is to access medical care outside of the country when her father fell critically ill. It was at this point, Mitika realized that there should be a platform which makes it easier for patients seeking treatment abroad.
