An Undying Bond of Teacher and Student. Celebrating Teacher’s Day

"Better than a thousand days of diligent study is one day with a great teacher."  - Japanese Proverb

Consider a world without teachers. Do you believe that we might sufficiently educate and empower ourselves? Most likely, NO would be the response. The aforementioned Japanese proverb does a great job of capturing the commitment and influence of a teacher. Being a teacher is frequently viewed as an underrated profession. But it is one of the most challenging tasks; educating children selflessly, attempting to be a role model for them, and demonstrating what the future contains while constantly smiling is not simple.

The profession of teaching is the one that is most revered worldwide. The Guru-Shishya connection has a long history in India, where the Guru is regarded as more than God or one's parents. In India, Teachers' Day is observed annually on September 5 to honour the birth anniversary of Dr. Sarveapalli Radhakrishnan, our second president (1962–67). Professor S. Radhakrishnan was well-known for his academic accomplishments and was adored by his students.

Since every child is unique and has unique demands, teachers adapt their teaching methods to fit each child's requirements and exercise patience with their students. They instil excellent manners and morals in their kids while patiently addressing any queries or issues they may have. They aid in developing children's imaginations and provide them with the means to discriminate between good and evil, aiding in their understanding of the outside world.

Teachers mould the next generation of thinkers and leaders; they are more than simply educators. They are also mentors, supporters, and confidants. Their commitment to their work is truly outstanding. However, teaching is only one aspect of a teacher's job. It also includes fostering resiliency, sensitivity, and a love of lifelong learning.

teacher’s day

Teacher’s Day is celebrated so that students, parents, and institutions get the chance to show their appreciation for the commitment and labour of teachers on this day. On this day, educational institutions and students honour teachers who go above and beyond to mentor, advise, and help students create their futures in addition to teaching them.

Teachers Day is a day that extends beyond the walls of schools and textbooks and sends out a pleasant, respectful atmosphere to people who spend their lives fostering intelligence and character.

In schools and colleges, Teacher’s Day is celebrated with huge enthusiasm. The whole day is dedicated to teachers, students dress up as their favourite teachers, the classrooms are decorated, conduct classes to their younger batches, perform skits, and also present gifts or roses to their teachers.

The chance to honour these priceless gems, who toil endlessly to instruct and motivate the future generation, is provided by Teacher's Day. Instead of reserving our love for teachers for just one day a year, let's work to express our appreciation for them all year long for their vital contributions to society and the enhancement of many lives.

Filaantro along with Child Help Foundation is indebted to all those teachers who have been part of the journey to educate underprivileged children and empower them. The Quality Education program has helped 4,82,051 children educate and lead to a brighter future, thanks to those teachers who have selflessly supported these students. Filaantro wishes every teacher a Happy Teacher’s Day!
