Shramik Kisan Seva Samiti is an educational society founded by well-known social worker Mr. Nandkumar D. Mohite who is well conversant with the difficulties faced by poor and needy children of laborers, especially the farmers and the fishermen. He started the trust in the year 1991 at Shivar Ambere, a village which is in a remote hilly area located in Ratnagiri, Tehsil of Ratnagiri district in Maharashtra, India. The hilly terrain in the village makes it difficult for its residents to travel long distances which had resulted in social, economic and educational backwardness of Shivar Ambere village.

Even though Shivar Ambere and other nearby areas are most beautiful town villages in Ratnagiri district and known for its beautiful sight and sounds, but has remained backward in the field of education in terms of agriculture and industry, while the urban masses are able to take most benefits of all the fruits of scientific, industrial and social advance achieved throughout the world. The rural masses lag behind in everything due to lack of literacy and education. In order to fulfil the need of Higher Education and English medium school of this region, Shri. Nandkumar D. Mohite laid the foundation of SHRAMIK KISAN SEVA SAMITI namely SHRAMIK VIDYALAY, KRANTIJYOTI SAVITRIMAI PHULE ENGLISH MEDIUM SCHOOL and LOKNETE SHAMRAOJI PEJE (Arts, Commerce, Science) JUNIOR and DEGREE COLLEGE AT SHIVAR AMBERE.

Our institution which was established 29 years back has grown by leaps and bounds within the short span with respect to quality in education, Infrastructure, faculty profile and achievement, subsequently with donations received from patrons. It is a matter of pride on behalf of us to say that our college is the leading institute which has been the centre of knowledge and culture, ideas and ideals. Offering high quality education to all at low price is extremely difficult. Running an institution with nearly 1000 students who are taking education in our school within our area. The educational scenario in Ratnagiri has changed. We wish to fulfil the dreams of our people so that their children will be well educated and a good citizen of our country.

As our founder is very much passionate educationist, taking it into consideration the main objective of the institute is to spread secondary and higher education, motivate the students of rural area towards higher education, to spread importance of English and to improve social, economic, educational, cultural and political background, we wish to expand these dreams by constructing its various educational activities for the rural masses. As plenty of students as well as land is available for our project but the cost of construction of building, other infrastructure, laboratory, playgrounds, libraries, workshop, classroom equipment are beyond the capacity of the trust. We are sure that by ignoring the rural community, India's progress as a nation cannot be achieved. When rural India develops; India will become 100% developed.

At this juncture, we are approaching you and other charitable organizations for your precious help. Shramik Kisan Seva Samiti needs funds to the tune of Rs. 3.53 crore to improve the infrastructure facilities in its institutions like additional classrooms, Computer Lab, Laboratory ( Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Zoology, Mathematics), E-Library & Study Room, Hostel (Girls & Boys), Playground, Gymnasium ( Girls & Boys), Canteen, Indoor stadium etc. and a Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Competitive exams center for preparing students for UPSC / MPSC etc.
