Skills Development for Transgenders, Sex workers, Migrants and Youth from vulnerable and economically poor backgrounds
Skill Development is a very important activity for training youth by providing those skills which enhance their Employment / Self-Employment opportunities. In fact, the Skill India campaign was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 15 July 2015 to train over 40 crore people in India in different skills by 2022 as skill development programmes mitigate poverty, utilize demographic dividend, socio-economic empowerment of underprivileged sectors, achieve economic growth, reduce social challenges, and result in economic inclusion.
Considering the great need for skilling in the country, the NGO Auxilium Skills Academy came into existence with an aim to promote the advancement of vocational and technical education for the marginalized and school dropout youth, rag pickers, and migrants, sex workers, transgenders and orphan youths spread in four South and East Indian states. Several surveys have pointed out that youth illiteracy for India was 25 million with nearly 6.2 percent unemployed. With the right help provided at the right time, there is a possibility of transition towards positive statistics.
Auxilium Skills Academy is fully convinced that there is a need to empower our underprivileged and vulnerable youth in order to mould a generation of committed citizens. Education is the powerful key to building a better nation with the demeanour and contributing succour. Hence the NGO Auxilium Skills Academy has started classroom-based training for the two courses of Digital Marketing and Beauty and Wellness. Currently, there are 200 students enrolled for each of these courses. The Skills Academy is currently running the training centre with limited funds at its disposal and needs funds to the tune of Rupees One lakh twenty-eight thousand on a monthly basis. The breakup of monthly costs is given below.
Considering the need for funds these students from underprivileged backgrounds have prepared chocolates which they intend to give to anyone who financially supports their institute. Each box of chocolates is priced at Rs 200/- and these students intend to sell 1000 boxes of chocolates each month to financially support their institution.
Requesting each one of you to buy as many chocolate boxes as possible from these students and also inform your friends and relatives to purchase these chocolates so that you can change the lives of these underprivileged to acquire life-supporting skills offered by Auxilium Skills Academy.
All donations/purchase of chocolates for the above cause qualify for 80G Tax exemption and Auxilium Skills Academy.
AUXILIUM SKILLS ACADEMY is the flagship outcome-based skill development centre of the Mumbai Province of the Salesian Sisters of Don Bosco.
