Simhachalam Giri Pradakshina, also known as Simhachalam Varaha Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Giri Pradakshina, is a famous pilgrimage and religious practice observed by devotees in the state of Andhra Pradesh, India. The procedure involves walking around Simhachalam Hill, located near Visakhapatnam, in a clockwise direction.

The event is considered very sacred, and auspicious and believed that it is equivalent to walking around the world - Prapancha Pradikshina. Giri Pradikshina is done on Giri Purnima which is the full moon day in July. This year the festival is celebrated on 20/07/24 . It is believed that by doing Giri Prdakshina all the wishes of devotees and their families come true and will be blessed with peace.

The history goes that Lord Vishnu appeared in the form of Varaha (a boar) to rescue Goddess Earth (Bhudevi) from the demon Hiranyaksha. After defeating the demon and bringing the Earth back from the depths of the ocean, Lord Vishnu decided to reside on the Simhachalam Hill as Varaha Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy.

During the festival, the devotees trek a 32-km route along the Simhachalam Hill covering BRTS Road, Hanumanthuwaka, MVP Colony, HB Colony, Seethammadhara, Madhavadhara, NAD Junction and Gopalapatnam. Devotees exhibit their love for Lord Narasimha Swamy by making prayers, chanting mantras, and singing devotional songs as they travel. It's seen to be a holy journey that cleanses the soul and leads to spiritual fulfilment.

In this spiritual journey, Filaantro, the crowdfunding organization along with Child Help Foundation has also decided to do the necessary for the devotees.
