The best way to simulate experiences that communicate ideas, stories, perceptions, feelings, beauty, or atmosphere experience is through the medium of a film or a movie. Considering the huge finances involved in the making and promotion of feature films, many talented filmmakers are nowadays making short films to present their ideas and stories. Short films connect to all audiences irrespective of the story Genre.
Madhukar Bhoye, a talented Filmmaker who wants to present his idea of an ancient story of Kansara Mai, a tribal god who has created an agricultural process for crops for the benefit of mankind. This is believed by the tribals and Madhukar Bhoye wants to show this story of belief, trust and faith through a short film.
The Summary of the short film is mentioned below:
Groups of Primitive humans used to search for their food by going to the forests and used to catch fishes from the river bodies to eat them. One day there was a fight between two groups of humans’. They started attacking each other. Suddenly Lord Mahadev appears in front of the two groups and chases away the group that started the fight. People start chanting his name and people start looking up to him as a leader.
Mahadev is very powerful and intelligent and in his reign, women are given equal status as men. One day five sisters namely Gori Rakami, Kali Rakami, Misal Kambi, Dev Mogra, and Kansara join Mahadev’s group. Lord Mahadev catches a glimpse of Kansara, the smallest one who is handicap and makes one more declaration that women no longer will go in search of food and now on will only decorate the caves. Kansara grows up and she along with her sisters starts visiting rivers banks. She finds dried flowers near the water banks and starts to sow its seeds nearby which turn into crops. Mahadev notices this and gives Kansara the name of Kansara Mai as she grows edible crops. And now everyone grows crops, stays in huts and doesn't go in Jungles in search of food, and starts agriculture in the leadership of Lord Mahadev and Kansara Mai.
This folklore which has passed through several centuries within the tribal community will be presented as a short film of 35 minutes. The story will be presented with the use of local tribal languages and traditional songs. The film will be shot at multiple locations like Dang in Gujarat, Sapatura & Suragna in Maharashtra and Dadra Nagar Haveli. The total cost of this short film is Rs. 7,11,000 (Rupees Seven lakhs eleven thousand only). The breakup of the costs is given below:

He has been honoured at the 90th Akhil Bharatiya Marathi Sahitya Sammelan and 3rd Marathi Vishwa Sahitya Sammelan for his work as a poet. He is a very known figure in India when it comes to research on the history of Adivasi communities. As a lyricist, Madhukar Bhoye has done the title songs for short films Ghangali, Gharkul, Adivasya and Mahilaraj and item song for Marathi feature film “Ghusadi”. He is also the Scriptwriter and Director for four short films and scriptwriter for the Hindi feature film “ Birsa Munda – The Ulgulan”.
