19-year-old Kusum (name changed) was born on the street. She was left alone on the roads when both her parents passed away. She never thought that she'll be able to live a good life or will receive an education for a matter of fact. Today, she has passed HSC with flying colours and is walking towards her dream with determination she never had before.

This story is not the only story, but there are more stories just like these of millions of girls in India, few of these stories are from Mangal Ashray Samajik Sanstha where they welcome these young women and aid them to develop confidence, self-respect, career and independence.

Mangalashray Samajik Sanstha started to support girls like Kusum. Kusum who was left on the streets because of her dreadful circumstances now aims to educate herself to become independent and help more girls just like her. This was ensured by Mangalashray Samajik Sanstha. More than 15 other girls like Kusum are fighting for a chance to change their lives, and break the intergenerational cycle of deprivation and abuse through education. All they need is a little motivation, love, and a safe space to grow.

Mangalashray Samajik Sanstha is a non-Governmental, and nonprofit making organization striving to empower each girl who is neglected by society to stand on their own feet, and most importantly take every opportunity to further rehabilitate, reintegrate, repatriate, and reunite with their family. The dream of the organization is to ensure every neglected victim, orphan, or abused girl/woman from society is sheltered in a safe, hygienic, healthy, homely, and happy environment.

To date, more than 50 girls are standing on their feet because of the education that they received with the support of Mangal Ashray Samajik Sanstha. These girls have all risen up from their terrible situations and now they are not only independent but also have their own family, friends and a purpose of helping more girls just like them.

In spite of these encouraging outcomes of all the support provided by  Mangal Ashray Samajik Sanstha, they are extremely constrained in their efforts because of the funds. They need funds to support the education of girls like Kusum, these funds can help ease the struggle of basic daily needs like Food and Clothing, Medical Assistance, Travelling to education centres and having a solid roof on their heads.

Currently, there are 15 girls living at the Sanstha. However, looking at the increasing number of requests for enrollment and the increasing prices of food, clothes, education and better infrastructure at the shelter, MangalAshray Samajik Sanstha needs funds. The cost of providing food, travel allowance, daily expense, clothing, education, rent, bills & conveyance support for 15 girls is Rs. 24 lakhs for a year.
