On 11th June 2023, Kushi and her family conducted a small celebration for Kushi’s tenth birthday. Though there were smiles on their faces, they couldn’t help but wonder whether Kushi would have to spend her entire life being dependent on others.

Ever since she was born, Kushi has been battling congenital scoliosis. This disease has caused her one shoulder to be slightly higher than the other, which makes even walking difficult for her.

According to the doctors at Bhagwan Mahaveer Jain Hospital in Bengaluru, Karnataka, Kushi requires deformity correction and fusion. The cost of this treatment is Rs 5,00,000/- (Rupees Five Lakhs Only).

Kushi’s father, Basavaraj is a farmer and her mother, Gangamma, works at an agency. They live in a joint family. However, even the combined might of the entire family is falling short of helping her get her treatment. Kushi’s parents have resorted to taking loans to fund her treatment.
