“Arranging lakhs of rupees for Hitanya's treatment is impossible for us. Even after giving our everything, it is not enough to save my little girl. She has been suffering since birth and I am helpless. We are already in debt. My husband works day and night to somehow make ends meet. We are in urgent need of funds, and we are unable to arrange it. We have stayed strong for our angel for so long, but now we are beginning to lose hope. With each passing day, her condition is worsening. In these unfortunate times, we are in dire need of money to support our daughter's surgery. Please help us!”

- Mrs. Paramjeet ; (Mother)

In September 2015, Mr. Subhash Chander and Mrs. Paramjeet were celebrating the birth of their newborn twin baby girls, Hitanya and Harnoor. The couple were very happy to welcome new member angels into their lives. Little did they know, one of their angels' heart had fallen prey to Congenital Heart Disease (CHD).

Three-month-old Hitanya began experiencing shortness of breath and high fever. Her parents grew tense and wasted no time in taking their daughter to a local hospital in Bhore Village, Punjab. Tests were run on her and the family learned that their baby was suffering from pneumonia.

Even after a lot of treatment and medication, Hitanya was struggling to breathe and cried in agony. Her parents took her to the Rainbow Hospital, Punjab. The doctors conducted tests on Hitanya and her heart defect was diagnosed. She was suffering from CHD Transitional AVCD (hole in the heart). The doctors suggested an Open-Heart Surgery. Hitanya's parents were unable to afford such a huge amount, so they decided to delay her surgery. She was admitted to the same hospital for almost a year.

When she was three years old, her mother, Mrs. Paramjeet underwent three major surgeries for which they had to borrow money from friends and relatives as they had drained all their savings on Hitanya's treatment.

Right around the onset of the second COVID-19 wave, little Hitanya began experiencing shortness of breath. She used to trip while walking and cry every night because of the sharp pain in her legs. One of their friends suggested the parents took Hitanya to Bathinda, Punjab. She was admitted there. The parents were informed by the cardiologists that their daughter would need surgery as soon as possible to survive because the hole in her heart grew larger as Hitanya grew.

Hitanya has grown tired of asking her parents when she’d be free from constant injections and hospital visits. Just six years old, this sweet girl from Punjab, is tortured by a heart defect. She has spent all her life in the hospital, undergoing continuous treatment. She cannot play with her one-year-old baby brother Dishant. Her twin sister Harnoor is always by her side cheering her sister in the hospital.

Her father works as a Mechanic and earns up to Rs. 7,000/- per month. He has already spent every rupee of his savings to save his daughter. The family is in debt and is unable to raise Rs. 4,50,000/- (Rupees Four Lakhs Fifty Thousand Only), the required amount for Hitanya's surgery.
