Help a Struggling Father from Uzbekistan to Save His 7-Year-Old Baby Girl
"I used to work at a grave in my home country but when we came here, I lost everything that I had. We are living in this new country with no source of income or a place to live. I don't think I will be able to pay the rent of the place where we are staying currently. We will be homeless, maybe. But that is not what I am worried about, I just want my daughter to come back to health. I cannot see my daughter on a hospital bed hooked to tubes every day. I wish I could take away all her pain and save her. On the other hand, my wife and younger son are trying hard to be strong but I know they are struggling to survive here too. I am shattered, I do not know what to do. Please, please help me!"
-Umidjon Abdiev (Father)
A determined father, who is desperate to get his daughter treated for a life-threatening disease and bring her back to normalcy, is asking for your help. Umidjon Abdiev who hails from Uzbekistan is struggling in a new country without any source of income or home.
Umidjon's seven-year-old daughter, Husnorakhon Abdusalomova has been diagnosed with Thalassemia major. She needs an urgent bone marrow transplant but it was not possible for them in Uzbekistan. On recommendations from local hospitals in Uzbekistan, Umidjon along with his wife, Ms Gulyora Muminova, his daughter Husnorakhon and son Abdurasul came to India in May 2022 to get the treatment Husnorakhon needed. They knew the treatment would require a large amount of money and hence they sold the only thing they could call their own, which was their house in Uzbekistan. With that money and an uncertainty, they came to India and Husnorakhon underwent the treatment she needed in Rainbow Children's Hospital, New Delhi.
Fortunately, Husnorakhon's and her younger brother Abdurasul's HLA (Human Leukocyte Antigen, responsible for the regulation of the immune system) matched 100% and they did not have to find any donor to start the treatment. The treatment was successful and now Husnorakhon needs further medical management and observation with high-end antibiotics and total parental nutrition, the estimated cost of which is Rs. 6,00,000/- (Rupees Six Lakhs Only).
The family is staying in a rented place near the hospital in New Delhi. The house in their home country was the last thing they had of their own and they spent every penny they had on their beloved daughter's treatment and moved to another country to save her life. Please help the family in their difficult times.
