Initially, Dnyanda had a cold, but the doctors told the parents, Kishor and Pooja, to take their daughter for a sonography test. The results of the test were the most dreadful news that their parents had ever heard. Their daughter was diagnosed with a heart disease. Today, Dnyanda’s days are plagued by breathing complications and occasional fever and cold.

According to the doctors at Maharashtra’s Jehangir Hospital (550m from Pune Railway Station), Dnyanda needs surgery, which costs Rs 5,20,000/- (Rupees Five Lakh Twenty Thousand Only).

Kishor and his wife, Pooja, work as farm labourers and earn a meagre living. They live in a household of seven, in which they are two of three breadwinners. Their scant income is merely enough to pay for the daily necessities. Till now, they have managed to pay the bills with their savings, but the savings won’t last long.
