My First Child Weeps With Pain Everyday - Weeps Reballe Sushmitha
“This is my first child. I dreamt about this day for years. How could I know that my first child would be accompanied by pain and misery? I wish I could take her pain away, but our financial situation has made it impossible”-
Reballe Sushmitha ; (Mother)
On 6th January, 2024, Sushmitha gave birth to a beautiful baby girl. Ever since their marriage, Sushmitha and Vemula dreamt of this day. But their first baby was born with Myelomeningocele, a tumour in her spinal cord. Pain has become an unwelcome presence in the life of the little angel.
As the parents try to make sense of the calamity that has been bestowed upon them, the cost of the treatment has become another blow to them. According to the doctors at Telangana’s Sowmya Children’s Hospital (7.8 km from Hyderabad Railway Station), the baby needs to undergo surgery and NICU stay, which would cost Rs 4,00,000/-(Rupees Four lakh Only). However, the amount has now been increased to Rs 6,00,000/- (Rupees Six Lakhs Only), as she needs to undergo a VP shunt and needs a NICU stay.
Sushmita works for an NGO and is on maternity leave, while her husband Vemula works at a private company. Both their incomes are not enough to pay the medical expenses. The couple must also pay Rs 6,000/- to ensure a roof over their head.
Please consider donating to ensure that the couple has a moment of happiness they have been waiting for their entire marriage lives. Even a share would be extremely helpful.
