On November 22nd, 2023, Chandra Shekhar and his wife, welcomed a baby boy into the world. However, their joy was overshadowed by concern as the baby arrived prematurely at just 26 weeks, weighing a fragile 0.800 grams. Instead of embracing this joyous occasion, the couple found themselves engulfed in worry, their newborn requiring immediate intensive care due to his delicate condition.
At Haryana’s Silver Crest Hospital (2.7 km from Gurgaon Railway Station), the dedicated medical team placed the baby in the preterm care unit, providing essential oxygen support. The road ahead is challenging as the doctors estimate 8-10 weeks of intensive treatment, amounting to a substantial cost of Rs. 7,00,000/- (Rupees Seven Lakhs Only).
Chandra Shekhar Azad, an auto-rickshaw driver and the family's sole provider, resides in a rented home with a family of four. His daily struggle to make ends meet leaves no room for such an unexpected financial burden.
