We at Filaantro want to welcome everyone to support us in spreading smiles across these beautiful faces. It was the time to mainly focus on family, friends and all those little moments that brought joy. We also focused on giving joy to others and helped them. Increasing the public's knowledge of disabilities is arguably one of the most important steps in raising social and environmental barriers facing individuals with disadvantages. Increased awareness also encourages disabled and senior persons to be more socially, physically, and spiritually active. With the last holiday of the year 2020, Christmas, we have ended the year with a sweet note around our seniors. We felt the warmth and lights all around us.

We had planned to visit a Senior citizen home at Mercy John Memorial Public Trust during the Christmas Season in Mumbai, Maharashtra. Senior citizens often feel alone during the festivals remembering the past years. The organisation is taking care of 85 senior citizens currently. It is not only the right thing but also our duty to make sure they feel joyful, happy and not alone under the beautiful Christmas lights. We planned to provide them with our warm loves, ensuring they don't feel cold this winter, by presenting them with shawls, socks and warm hugs. The feeling of being loved and supported boost self-confidence in elders to survive. We were aiming for the goal where these senior citizens feel loved and safe and with this small event we tried to achieve it in a small way. 

We played a few games and distributed gifts amongst them. We had snacks and a celebratory Christmas cake which was a sweet end to our small happy event. Senior citizens, with the joyful spirit, sang carols and old songs. They were joyful to recite poems. We organised a playful act where one of our members was dressed up as Santa Claus and danced his way through with our sweet seniors. In addition to this event, we are planning to do similar activities in other Child Care Institutions and more Senior Citizen Homes. We need your support to raise Rs.1 lakh for this selfless deed.
